I was watching the news a couple of days ago, and to my discontent... shocked about a piece of information about "Cinco de Mayo"

What do you think is celebrated on May 5th? Is it the Independence of Mexico? ... well, the newscaster thought it was. While May 5th is widely celebrated and thus made popular among the communities in the US... the meaning of this holiday appears to have dissipated and consequently has confused a large group of individuals.

Winter Cleaning

Decided to work on the look and feel of my blogs this week, since I've got more free time now, and that's what we are doing... slowwwwwwwly.

I came across a tutorial that helped me put a couple of new gadgets to my blogs, it's not evident in this one for the changes are made on my Projects Blog. This way if I make a horrendous mistake and the blog's mainframe integrity is compromise, there's not much I loose. My Projects Blog was made just to try new features and make changes that I would like to do for this blog, but I think that it will evolve into something even greater where I can publish ONLY the projects I've worked on EXCLUSIVELY.

I am currently working on a "Featured Post" gadget, the tricky part is figuring out the customization for my specific needs/wants. You will see it when I'm done making some adjustments in the code... oh, and I thought I would add some other content here, but I don't think that I will anymore, so the new column on the left will be OUT!!!

'twas the day before the BeneCon and all through the campus the exhaustion's been felt.
Our first family hangout was today, originally planned for St. Jerome's siblings, slowly escalating to a more big and impressive massive event involving at least three of Liwanag's Saint Families plus some adoptees. It was such a great day that I was planning on blogging about... if the WAN at home got fixed and I could get access to the interwebs, GRANTED.

T'was an awesome day, got a lot done... and the cherry on top, little Belle stop by and pay me a visit. She's so adorable, she likes to play with my laptop, my phone, the piano, the steering wheel, and whatever else we are using. What she likes the most, is when we sing to her... I don't really know if she likes our singing, or she is making fun of our singing for she always laughs every single time. Well, if it makes her laugh, I'll keep singing to her. =P

Had some issues with the internetz last night, wasn't fixed until just minutes ago.

"Covert Affairs" is a sneak peak on the cover pages of the book I'm working on. There's going to be a meeting today to refine the content layout and to approve of the cover. It took me almost all weekend just photo scanning, photo editing, photo retouching, cover creating, and content layout'ing. What's left to do is just enter the texts and collages, which I'm working on at the moment.

Rude awakening by the contractors that showed up unexpectedly to replace the fence dividing the condominiums... someone should've gave noticed us at least a week in advance... -_-

Despite the early morning, I dedicated half daylight time to scanning photos for this 'yearbook' I'm doing for a local church where I used to be exploited. =P So many pictures, so little space to put them on...

My earlier layout gave every moment in the church's 50 year history and its ministries at least a page to showcase milestones leading to such community. Due to the low response on portrait schedules and photos taken by the publishers, the committee didn't pile up enough credits to get just enough pages. Crude reality, the yearbook got only enough credits to accommodate about 20% of of the ideal volume. Now presented with the space challenge, and the scarce submissions, got scanning and rearranging my layout. I need to have a new layout ready for Monday's meeting and thus proceed packaging the book and send it to the publishers. Good luck Omar, don't forget to offer this stressful situation in prayer.

"Nourish Thyself" means more than just feed your hunger, take today...

Today was filled with so many great events, from a book-layout meeting to an employment interview. By nourishing one self I am reminding myself to keep feeding the brain, the soul, and the body. To keep learning at every moment and time spent growing; to exercise my faith with pride, preaching what I believe through my actions; and of course, eating healthier... not that I don't eat KIND OF healthy already, but I will need to be able to keep up with the youth of today if I'm going to get hired. Wish me good luck, and keep me in your prayers.

And because you are reading this entry, I will treat you with something just a handful selected group of people rarely get to see.

This is my 'scrap' mock op book layout to submit for approval by the "Jubilee Committee" tomorrow afternoon. I decided to give a sneak peak to what the cover might look like if approved, an outline of the content of the book, some notes about layout and the text that would be included in it.

Stay tunned for a digital version of the book once this layout, AND the layout submitted for press, get approved and ready to publish. Pray for the community of St. Polycarp and it's administrators may find the light of true and righteousness.

Today was spent at "the office" since I was expecting some calls and emails for various job opportunities. Granted, I scheduled a second face-to-face interview for the Mentor Program... all signs indicate I'm in, almost. Keep me in your prayers, they sure are coming with blessings. I was prompted to schedule my first interview with a departmental store, which I applied for a seasonal position months ago. Besides, the yearbook project I've been part of for the last half year or so is coming to its submitting stage so that it be printed and distributed. Also working on a DVD version of it (sold separately lol=P), have a finalizing meeting this Friday right before my second interview for the mentor program.

And to put it all together, did some research for my audition coming this 27th... I'll need all the good luck and blessings I can get. If everything goes well, and God allows me to excel myself, I'll be a Mentor for this school year, a retailer for this upcoming holiday season, and a performer in the most innovative place on earth for the mornings and weekends of this academic year (and hopefully longer). TIME MANAGEMENT, DON'T FAIL ME NOW!!!

'Twas a day filled with wonderful things, and this pictures pretty much sums it up. Starting with a person-to-person interview for the Mentor Program I applied last week (expecting a call for next step). Followed by a quick run to the Barber Shop and get my tangelo under control... and ready for my audition on the 27th. If it all goes well, I'd be helping the youth of the O.C. and entertaining the masses of the world at the same time. Wish me GOOD LUCK!

The highlight of it all, we got my little niece her very own laptop, since she likes playing with ours; hopefully she likes it and plays with it... although there won't be any pictures of herself, which she likes to see herself.

Yet another father-son bonding activity. The initial task was to change the oil in mother's vehicle, but before that is done, the engine will have to be throughly inspected. What a labor's day it was, there's just rest day for father... he's always doing something.

As for the grilled lunner with the family, that was some delicious carne asada with rice and bean, plus grilled onions on the side. Mmmm...

Though there were loads of interesting things happening to me today, I decided to op for this image. Even before I even considered to take a gander to this phenomena, every time I would hear the jingle "Disney, three six five!" for the Disney 365 short-commentaries I would conceitedly jingle along "Omar, three six five!" I know... LAME, right?! =P

Today while listening to the homily, my mind couldn't help it but to wander off... no matter how many trips I took, they all would end up coming back to the Disney logo from that jingle. Hence, as soon as I got home I started dabbling into coming up with a couple of variations according to seasons. These is what the end product represent from left to right: Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring, and a general one for my blog label (seen below the title to the left).
